The best creative is a restful one.

Being a designer, artist, musician, or anything in a creative facet can be unbelievably draining. We are constantly on the hamster wheel pushing out content, ideas, and new inventions. It is such a beautiful way of living, but it can get very exhausting. It is very important to reset before producing more work. Here are a few tips to keep you from burning out and wanting to quit altogether.

  1. Get a Full Night’s Rest

When in doubt, turn off all the noise and take rest. I am one of those crazies who can fall asleep at the drop of a hat and get more than 8 hours of sleep. However, on occasion I do struggle with turning off the anxiety or the work and need a little help. One of my favorite vitamins comes from Olly. It’s easy on my system and helps me gently find sleep. I typically avoid vitamins and supplemental because it doesn’t always agree with my digestive track, but when I find something I stick to it. And believe me this stuff works.

2. Create a Zen Space

I 1000% believe your space is sacred. The energy you bring in will always affect your mood and temperament. Whether you Feng Shui your place, sage it or even keep it clean freak neat, the best thing even though it is simple is to get an air purifier. It will change your life. Breathing clean, fresh air without particles, dust, or like me anything dirt sets off my allergies, you need one. Checkout Medify. They have some of my favorites or others like Dyson are pretty great too.

3. Keeping your Health in Check

Okay one more on gummies. I SWEAR by this product. Recently I started taking Apple Cider Vinegar gummies and it has turned my dietary system around! I typically have a hard time with acidic foods/drinks and especially if I have too much caffeine. Coffee addict over here and snob. LOL Seriously though check it out.

4. Meditate

It is so important to focus your mind. Where your thoughts go, you follow. So realign yourself daily taking 5 - 10 minutes and just sit quietly without any technology, sound, music, etc. Being calm and sitting with the existence of you. It can be very powerful and allow you to get in touch with how you feel in this exact moment.

5. Decompress after a long day

So you have been at work for 8 hours with the rest of emails, co-workers, clients and even the daily people who are always angry for some reason right after work on the road. Take time for yourself for about 30 minutes to an hour. I typically go for a walk, go to the gym, stretch, eat a snack and just unplug. I also leave my work at the door and try not to bring it in the house with me. Separation helps keep a. healthy life work balance.
