Conceptual Design is not Literal Design
A professor once made a statement regarding conceptual design to me that really has resonated with throughout my career. He said , “If you have a company about cats, sells cat products, the company name has cat components in the content and shows cats in the logo/mark, then there is not enough conceptual depth to that design”.
My friends, he is has never been more true. You don’t want to literally say CAT, CAT, CAT, CAT for your entire messaging, concept, and design elements.
This statement has driven me to continually dig deeper for conceptual ideas in my thought process and strategy. So continue brainstorming, don’t always land on your first idea, dig deep for thought provoking tag-lines, and develop insightful logos and marks!
